  • Accounting is the language of business!  This is an essential course for students who plan to major in business/accounting at college, own a business, or work as a bookkeeper.  Students complete the accounting curriculum for companies organized as proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations.  Students learn to keep business financial records manually and on a computer, using a Windows-based software, Excel, and industry standard QuickBooks software.  Career opportunities in the field of Accounting are explored.   

    Accounting I                                         

    This is an introductory course for students who plan to major in business/accounting at college, own a business, or work as a bookkeeper.  Students complete the accounting curriculum for companies organized as proprietorships and partnerships.  Students learn to keep business financial records manually and on a computer, using a Windows-based software and Excel.  Career opportunities in the field of Accounting are explored. 

    Accounting II                                        

    This is a progressive course for students who plan to major in business/accounting at college, own a business, or work as a bookkeeper.  Students complete the accounting curriculum for companies organized as corporations.  Students learn to keep business financial records manually and on a computer, using a Windows-based software, Excel, and industry standard QuickBooks software.  Career opportunities in the field of Accounting continue to be explored. 

    Accounting III                                       

    This is an excellent course in preparation for college business and accounting courses, as well as for the new entrepreneur.  Students will study from an advanced accounting text expanding on topics learned in Accounting I and II, while adding new topics about management accounting, cost accounting, not-for-profit accounting, and financial analysis.   Students continue to keep business financial records manually and on a computer, using Excel and industry standard QuickBooks software.  The study of advanced accounting helps qualify students for jobs and careers at higher levels and is also an excellent background for the new entrepreneur.
