V. INTRODUCTION:

This is a continuation of the networking learned last week. It includes router configuration, networking devices, and cabling. It also includes how to configure a PC for networking. TCP/IP is the language of choice here.

VI. CONTENT  :

This week includes the CLI command Line Interface used by Cisco in its routers. The layout and physical build of the network is emphasized this week.

This week also introduces the Internet (as if the students needed that introduction). But the internet is presented in a way in which they may not have as of yet conceived. I present the internet both here and in the networking class as something that we build. In the process of building a laboratory internet, we discover many of the trials and tribulations that the early designers of the internet really encountered and how they overcame those problems. It really is a great learning experience to recreate the internet in a laboratory environment.

VII. SUMMARY:

This week concludes the network discussion and labs for now.
