V. INTRODUCTION:

This week introduces the server 2003 software. Several labs are provided to introduce the students to the server program.

VI. CONTENT:

Windows Server 2000 is so out of date and hard to comprehend, that I have chosen to eliminate most references to it in this course. The amount of instruction on the use and configuration of Windows Server 2000 would have required a separate class. The time would have taken too much time away from the Networking I students. The networking Ii students will for a large amount of time, be placed in a mode of being self taught on a lot of the topics presented.

Server 2003 is introduced through a brief lecture and a reread of the text chapter 1. In Chapter 1 there are a series of labs and activities that can be accomplished without a lot of instruction - more or less self taught.

This week will also include the Power Point presentations of Chapters 4 and 5.
