V. INTRODUCTION:


Introduction to the means of getting data from one location to another. This is called Modes of transmission.



VI. CONTENT :


This lecture introduces the software that was developed to enable the transmission of data from here to there. This is entitled "Modes of Transmission" which includes everything from the PC internal components, software protocols, packetizing the data, an introduction to the hardware devices uses on a network, and the different types of cabling to be found in use both yesterday and today.
