Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to demonstrate through written evaluation, task performance, or other assignment:

 

1.      Knowledge of computer networking terminology.

2.      Knowledge of theories and principles of network topologies and protocols.

3.      Ability to apply troubleshooting rules to create and maintain a computer network.

4.      Working knowledge of creating, connecting and troubleshooting cable.

5.      Knowledge of the OSI model, how each layer works, and which network components are used at each layer.

6.      Basic understanding of electricity and the safety procedures used when working with electricity.

7.      Working knowledge of converting hexadecimal, binary and decimal numbers.
