V. INTRODUCTION:

This weeks lessson introduces protocol analyzers as well as other network monitoring tools. Some glossary and other terms are provided.

VI. CONTENT :

This week we use the software called Ethereal to monitor the network. Ethereal is a commercial free download software packet that can be used to monitor a network. Also presented are the networks monitoring tools associated with Windows Server tools.

The ongoing teaching of the new glossary is a never ending battle to stay current on the new terminology. This weeks emphasis is to re-present those terms that may have been forgotten since they were presented in the beginning of the year.

Some looking into HP Open view is presented but it will only be a quick look see at what it does.
