Spreadsheets IStudents work at their own pace preparing spreadsheets
using Microsoft Excel software. Students who are new to spreadsheets and those
who have some experience preparing spreadsheets will be able to work
independently at their own level. This is an excellent, elective course to be
taken with accounting courses.
The class begins with the basics of creating a worksheet and advances to
intermediate topics of table lookup, database functions, and customizing a
worksheet for the user's need.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification (Core and Expert Levels),
which are becoming an industry standard, can be obtained after successfully
completing the testing requirements. HCTC students showing aptitude for a MOS
exam will have their test fee waived (normally $65 per
test). |
Spreadsheets IISecond-year spreadsheets will allow students to
utilize critical thinking and accounting concepts, while applying advanced
features of spreadsheet design and implementation.

- Spreadsheets I with a grade of “C” or better

individuals to successfully interact with the computer to create spreadsheet
documents, gather information, and solve problems. The spreadsheet skills
paired with accounting skills will prepare a person for entry level employment
