Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification is the globally
recognized standard for demonstrating desktop skills with the Microsoft
Office suite of business productivity applications. MCAS is the ONLY
approved certification program designed to measure and validate users'
skills with the Microsoft Office suite of desktop productivity
applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook). MCAS
certification has provided thousands of people with
the proof that they are able to more fully utilize the functionality of
the
software. This also proves to an employer that this person actually
knows
the software.
The Business Education Division of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education agreed to provide testing and training for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification. DESE announced this offering during the Summer of 1999 and provided applications for interested schools in the fall. The Hannibal Career and Technical Center, as a result of this application process, was approved to be one of 24 testing and training centers in the state of Missouri. During this process, we have become an Authorized Testing Center (ATC) which means that we can administer the MCAS test to community people that are interested.
The Office 2007 version is available. Training is hands-on and may require some practice outside of class time. For more information on MCASS certification, go to the website at www.certiport.com
