Frequently Asked Questions for HSE and HiSET

This is a list of Frequently Asked Questions HSE and HiSET.

Q. WHAT IS High School Equivalency (HSE)?
A. High School Equivalency (HSE) is designed to provide adult students the opportunity to achieve as much academic progress as possible in order to be more productive individuals. This is accomplished by teaching students reading, writing, math skills, science and social studies. A degree of success in these areas decreases the student’s dependence on others, and increases their opportunities for more profitable employment. It also enhances their preparedness to meet adult responsibilities.

Q. ARE THERE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO ENROLL IN HSE PROGRAMS?
A. Yes.
1. Students must be at least 17 years of age.
2. Not currently enrolled in school.
