    Welcome to our Building Trades Construction Site

    New House Project for 2010-11 and 2011-12 School Year

    The building trades class is designed to be a two-year course.  Students will be responsible for the construction of a 1600-square-foot house on a job site away from the school campus.  Students are transported to the building site by bus daily by the instructor Mr. Kevin Willing.

    Each student will gain hands on experience on how to properly construct a frame dwelling.  Skills learned include frame construction, roofing, selection of materials, layouts, working drawings, concrete forming, cabinet construction, interior painting and finishing, use and care of tools used in carpentry and cost estimates. 

    Students will develop and expand their skills learned and are given the opportunity to experience the responsibilities of a foreman on the building site as well.  By the end of the school year the house is completed and sold by sealed bids obtained from the Director's office at the Hannibal Career and Technical Center located at 4550 McMasters Avenue, Hannibal, Mo. 

     

     
     

    If you would like to obtain a bid sheet for the building trades house please send your name, mailing address, and phone number to Linda McCloud and Mrs. McCloud or a member at the Board Office  will mail a bid sheet to you.  You are more than welcome to make arrangements to stop by an office at the Hannibal Career and Technical Center to obtain a bid sheet as well.

    Bid sheets will be available in the summer of 2012.  Open house will be announced through the local newspaper.
