Landscaping and Turf Management I

Opportunities abound in landscaping and turf management. Content area covers how plants grow; hand and power tools; installation of trees, shrubs, bedding plants, and ground covers; turfgrass; site analysis and evaluation; plant identification and selection; design elements and cost estimates. Students examine science as both content and process. Practical experiences outside the classroom will be offered. Many activities support agriscience-oriented SAE programs and FFA activities. FFA will be an integral part of the course, offering the opportunity to be involved in leadership activities and to receive recognition for accomplishments made pertaining to classroom and SAE achievements. Two period class.

 

Prerequisite: Any one of the following; Biology, Natural Resource Management,

Greenhouse Operation and Management, or Ag Science II
